Admission requirements for the MBA program

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Completion of one or more units of undergraduate Statistics course (3 or 4 semester credits/units) or equivalent from an accredited institution with a grade of C or higher
  • Completion of one undergraduate Accounting or Accounting related course from an accredited institution with a grade of C or higher


A completed application includes the following credentials:

  • Completed Online Application
  • $50 Application Fee
  • Official College/University Transcripts
  • GRE and GMAT scores should be submitted if available.


Proof of English language proficiency may be established in one or more of the following ways:

  1. A minimum TOEFL* score of 61 (internet-based test).
  2. A minimum IELTS** band of 6.
  3. SAT Critical Reading score of 440 or higher, and SAT Writing score of 390 or higher.
  4. ACT English score of 15 or higher, and ACT Reading score of 18 or higher.
  5. Advanced Placement score of 3 or higher in English Composition and Literature or English Language and Composition.
  6. College preparatory English language curriculum (non-ESL) where English is the language of instruction for a minimum of three years.
  7. Successful completion of an Intensive English Program designed to prepare students for academic college-level instruction.
  8. English proficiency test offered at Marymount or University of Nicosia (available online).


The following information is optional but helpful when reviewing your file:

  • SAT I or ACT Test Results (Required for merit scholarship consideration)
  • Letter of Recommendation
  • Personal Statement, College Essay
  • TOEFL Exam Results (International Students Only)


Helpful Hints and Optional Documents

The most important part of your application is your college records. Educational documents, including transcripts (and/or mark sheets) should be submitted. All documents, if not issued in English, must have certified English translations. If you have attended a college or university, you must provide official transcripts from all institutions at which you have attempted coursework.

  • Submit official transcripts showing yearly work in detail. If you have completed any courses at the college or university level, those documents must be included;
  • If your school cannot provide an official document, please provide photocopies that are notarized as true copies of the original document;
  • All documents submitted for admission become property of Marymount California University and will not be returned;

The SAT I, ACT and TOEFL are not required for admission to Marymount California University. However, if you have taken any of these examinations, you are encouraged to submit your results, particularly as they are required for scholarship consideration and are utilized in academic course placement.

Applicants are invited to submit additional information they think would be helpful to the Admissions Committee. The following types of documentation are encouraged but not required.

  • An academic letter of recommendation from a teacher, counsellor or adviser is encouraged. Applicants not currently enrolled in studies may submit an employer recommendation or personal reference.
  • Personal statements, essays or writing samples.
  • Standardized testing results from the following: SAT  and/or ACT.



Credits Earned at other Universities

The Marymount California University welcomes transfer students from other accredited colleges and universities and accepts courses which are of the same quality and equivalency as courses offered on campus.

The Marymount California University may accept up to 9 units of transfer credit toward the 36-unit MBA for graduate-level courses passed with a B or higher from an accredited university.
